Assessment

Gaining a correct diagnosis is vitally important to being able to treat an issue effectively. At Smith & Thomas we have expert training in providing a professional care involving subjective, objective, biomechanical and movement assessment.

Recovery

The road to recovery is often dependant on several factors. With our recovery methods we provide an excellent service that is put in place to aid your recovery time. By doing this, we help you get back to your everyday activities.

Treatments

Smith & Thomas Ltd believe that the highest level of treatment should be available to everyone. We ensure this service meaning that regardless of the injury, you will receive the best treatment.

After assessing the injury the treatment process can begin. This could be anything from a wide range of possible methods. Hands on manual therapy can be used so the therapist can have a physical effect on the area. Not only this but mobilisations can be incorporated into the treatment plan so the patient will be physically manipulated to reduce pain and increase the range of motion. From observation of any skeletal muscular imbalances the therapist will then be able to create a rehabilitation programme that will specifically target the problem area. As well as these hands on methods, many others are also available. From ultrasound treatment and preventative strapping techniques to neurodynamics and kinesiology taping, there is a variety of treatment methods the therapist can choose from.

Prevention

Through the recovery process our therapists make sure that the patient is educated as much as possible about their injury. From there, we can work together to put in place injury preventative strategies, that the patient can use in the future.
